Pneumatic Rotary Actuator ACTREG ADA / ASR

The ACTREG ADA and ASR series are rack & pinion pneumatic actuators designed for quarter-turn valves, including ball, butterfly, and plug valves. The ADA variant is double-acting, while the ASR is single-acting with spring return for predetermined fail-safe positioning on air loss.

Technical Specifications

  • Rotation angle: 90° ± 5°, adjustable via external travel stops.
  • Maximum operating pressure: 8 bar (ADA10 up to 10 barg).
  • Temperature range: -30 to +100 °C standard; -15 to +150 °C with FKM O-rings; -40 to +80 °C or -60 to +80 °C with Silicone O-rings.
  • Torque output up to 6,500 Nm across 14 sizes.

Mounting and Automation

Mechanical interface per ISO 5211 / DIN 3337. Solenoid valve mounting per NAMUR. Position feedback accessories per VDI/VDE 3845. Position indicator compatible with mechanical or inductive limit switches.

ADA vs ASR Selection

ADA is selected where continuous instrument air is available and both pneumatic opening and closing are required.
ASR is used when the valve must move to a defined fail-open or fail-close position on air failure, using mechanical spring return.

Materials, Sealing, and Protection

Standard construction: hard anodized aluminum body, epoxy-coated end caps, carbon steel shaft with electroless nickel plating, NBR O-rings. Options: FKM or Silicone O-rings, 316 stainless shaft, A4 fasteners, C4/C5 anti-corrosion coatings per EN ISO 12944-2.

Certifications

Compliant with ATEX Group II Category 2 (zones 1, 2, 21, 22), PED 2014/68/EU, IEC 61508 SIL3 capability, and ISO 9001:2015 for manufacturing quality systems.

Industrial Applications

Suitable for water networks, compressed air, process gases, chemical auxiliaries, treatment plants, storage tanks, and isolation systems. The actuator interfaces only with instrument air; process media compatibility is determined by the valve specification.

FAQ

When is a locking device required?
For lines where the valve position must be mechanically secured during maintenance.

What is checked during maintenance?
Air pressure, moisture content, O-ring condition, stroke time, travel stops, limit switches, and pneumatic connection leakage.
