The Eurotec Flex Box EFX is a position feedback enclosure designed for valves equipped with pneumatic rotary actuators. The unit’s shaft is mechanically coupled to the actuator shaft, and internal cams actuate position switches to provide feedback signals to PLCs, DCS, or local automation panels.
The Flex Box accepts mechanical microswitches, V3 inductive sensors, slot sensors, cylindrical sensors, dual sensors, potentiometer, pneumatic feedback, or 4–20 mA output, depending on the part number. Up to 6 feedback points and 4 cable entries are available per Eurotec specification.
The unit does not contact process media and is not selected by PN or Class. Selection is based on sensor type, voltage, signal type, number of feedback points, wiring, ambient temperature, and actuator compatibility.
The Flex EFX series complies with EU 2023/1230, RoHS, EMC 2014/30/EU, LVD 2014/35/EU, and EN 60947-5-2. Functional safety is assessed per IEC 61508 (FMEDA). Seals should be replaced when worn, or at a maximum interval of 5 years.
The name flex Box stands for particularly high flexibility. Thanks to the robust, copper-free aluminum (< 0.05% copper content), it is not only suitable for harsh environmental conditions with high demands on stability and resilience, but also for applications with salty atmospheres, sulfur gases and ammonia nitrate.

For use in safety-relevant systems and processes, we have carried out an FMEDA for our limit switch boxes and solenoid valves in collaboration with exida and classified our products into the corresponding SIL levels. Our products meet the criteria from SIL 1 to SIL 3.
