The Eurotec Big-Box EAL is a terminal switch enclosure designed for position feedback on valves equipped with pneumatic rotary actuators. It is specified when increased internal space is required for M30 cylindrical sensors, extended-length sensors, or mechanical position switches compliant with DIN EN 50041.
The enclosure transmits open/closed electrical signals to PLC, DCS, or automation panels. It mounts directly to the actuator shaft; cams actuate internal microswitches or sensors for position feedback.
The EAL version accommodates 1–2 mechanical position switches, a dual sensor, or 1–2 cylindrical sensors up to Ø30 mm and 118 mm length. The enclosure does not contact process media; selection is based on environment, signal type, wiring, and actuator compatibility, not PN/Class.
Declaration of conformity covers 2014/30/EU, 2014/35/EU, RoHS 2015/863, EN IEC 60947-5-2, and EN IEC 63000. Functional safety assessment per IEC 61508 is available for the Big-Box EAL series.
Is it suitable for ATEX zones?
EAL is intended for standard industrial environments without explosive atmospheres.
When is Big-Box preferred over smaller enclosures?
When M30 sensors, large DIN EN 50041 switches, or increased wiring space are required.
As the name suggests, the big-box is our largest limit switch box. We have to use this aluminum housing when large cylindrical sensors with M30 thread or a special length have to be installed, as well as when you want large mechanical position switches according to DIN EN 50041, such as those manufactured by Schmersal, Siemens or Bernstein.
