The OMC YT3300R is a digital electro-pneumatic positioner designed for rotary pneumatic actuators. This model is specified as double-acting; the YT-3300/3301 manual covers both single and double-acting variants by code. It accepts a 4–20 mA DC control signal and modulates supply air to the actuator to ensure valve angle tracks the PLC/DCS setpoint.
Supports auto calibration, PID tuning, alarms, HART, analog feedback 4–20 mA, standard linear / quick open / equal percentage and custom 16-point cam profiles. The A/M switch allows actuator bypass for testing/maintenance. Variable orifice is used to limit hunting on small-volume actuators.
Suitable for butterfly, ball, and plug valves in modulating service for steam, hot water, chilled water, condensate, air, and process utility lines. The process medium does not pass through the positioner; only instrument air is managed to the actuator.
What should be checked before selection?
Valve angle, actuator type, fail action, air supply pressure, Ex zone, HART, feedback, and pneumatic connection type.
Does it affect valve tightness?
It controls position and available pneumatic force. Final tightness depends on seat, disc/ball, actuator torque, Δp, and valve maintenance.
