Eurotec Wave Box Ex ED / K2D / K3

The Wave Box Ex is a limit switch box designed for mounting on quarter-turn pneumatic actuators (90°) used with industrial valves. The shaft of the box couples directly to the actuator shaft, and internal adjustable cams actuate position switches to provide open/closed feedback signals to PLC, DCS, or SIS systems. The enclosure does not contact process media, so selection is independent of valve pressure rating (PN/Class).

Explosion Protection Variants

ED – Ex db eb / Ex tb: For Zone 1, 2, 21, 22. Marking: II 2G Ex db eb IIC/IIB T6 Gb and II 2D Ex tb IIIC T80°C Db. Accepts 1–3 mechanical Ex d switches.
K2D – Ex tb / Ex tc: For Zone 21 and 22 (combustible dust). Marking: II 2D Ex tb IIIC T80°C Db and II 3D Ex tc IIIC T80°C Dc.
K3 – Ex ec / Ex tc: For Zone 2 and 22. Marking: II 3G Ex ec IIC T6 Gc and II 3D Ex tc IIIC T80°C Dc. K3 variant: Umax 60 V AC/DC, Pmax 2.5 W.

Construction and Sensor Options

Available with plastic or aluminum enclosure. Adjustable mounting bridge in reinforced plastic or stainless steel. Depending on variant, supports mechanical microswitches, inductive V3 sensors, slot sensors, cylindrical sensors, dual sensors, or reed switches.

Operating Temperature

For ED and K2D: Vestamid housing -20 to +40°C; aluminum up to +60°C. Lower limits: -55 / -40 / -20°C depending on material, sealing, and switch type. K3 follows similar logic.
