The Wave Box is a position feedback enclosure for valves equipped with pneumatic rotary actuators. The shaft of the box couples directly to the actuator shaft, and internal cams actuate switches to provide open/closed signals to PLC, DCS, or local automation panels. The device does not contact the process media.
Available with housings in polyamide, Vestamid, or aluminum. The mounting bracket is supplied in reinforced polyamide or stainless steel, depending on installation environment and application. Mounting is compatible with actuators per VDI/VDE 3845.
Configurable with mechanical microswitches, V3 inductive sensors, slot sensors, cylindrical sensors, dual sensors, reed switches, potentiometer, pneumatic feedback, or analog 4–20 mA output, depending on part number.
Standard terminal block accepts solid conductors 0.2–4.0 mm² or flexible conductors with ferrules 0.2–2.5 mm². Strip length is 7 mm, tightening torque 0.45–0.50 Nm. Cam adjustment is performed at actuator end positions, typically for 0–90° rotation.
Selection is based on sensor type, voltage, PLC input, enclosure material, ambient temperature, and wiring—not valve PN/Class.
Declaration of conformity covers wave EP, EA, EV series and references (EU) 2023/1230, RoHS, EMC 2014/30/EU, LVD 2014/35/EU, EN ISO 12100, EN 60947-5-2, EN IEC 63000. FMEDA per IEC 61508 available for functional safety applications.
For outdoor installation, a venting element is recommended to limit condensation. Lid and shaft seals should be replaced when worn, or at least every 5 years.
The wave box is our classic and an absolute all-rounder. We can install everything from mechanical microswitches to inductive sensors, slot initiators, double sensors or reed switches. It is available in plastic and aluminum and comes with an adjustable mounting bridge, optionally made of glass fiber reinforced plastic or stainless steel.
