TTV FIRE SAFE COLOSSUS Butterfly Valve

The TTV FIRE SAFE COLOSSUS is a high-performance double-offset butterfly valve designed for lines requiring soft seat operation with additional metal sealing in fire scenarios. The series covers DN32–DN600, operating pressure up to 25 bar, and installation between flanges PN10/16/25/40 or ANSI 150/300 lbs.

Connection and Standards

  • Versions: wafer, lug, flanged S20, double flanged S13.
  • Face-to-face: EN 558 Series 20 / Series 13, ISO 5752, API 609, EN 593, BS 5155, MSS-SP-68.
  • Top flange: ISO 5211.
  • Testing/design: API 598, ASME B16.34, EN 593.
  • Compliance: PED 2014/68/EU, ATEX 2014/34/EU, SIL IEC 61508, TA-LUFT / ISO 15848 design.

Fire-safe Seat

The fire-safe version uses R-PTFE seat with an additional metal seat AISI 316. In normal operation, sealing is achieved by R-PTFE; in case of soft seat failure due to fire, the metal seat acts as a secondary sealing surface. The manual specifies a temperature range of -50 to +220 °C and compliance with API 607 requirements.

Materials

Typical body materials: ASTM A216 WCB or ASTM A351 CF8M. The disc is CF8M, and the shaft is specified as ASTM A182 F316 or F431. For the fire-safe arrangement, graphite packing, graphite gasket, and reinforcement ring F-316L are noted.

Applications

Suitable for LPG/LNG, hydrocarbons, steam, saturated steam, thermal oil, bitumen/asphalt, corrosive liquids, fire installations, and chemical lines, provided seat, ΔP, temperature, and leakage requirements are confirmed.

When installation requires fire-safe design per API 607 and secondary metal sealing.

Is it a control valve?
Only after checking Cv/Kv, cavitation, noise, opening angle, and actuator torque.
