Neptun Box NEK is a stainless steel limit switch enclosure designed for valve position feedback in pneumatic rotary actuator assemblies. The shaft of the box follows actuator rotation, with cams actuating switches or sensors to provide open/closed signals to PLC or DCS systems. No process media contact occurs; selection is based on environment, sensor type, output signal, wiring, and actuator compatibility.
Enclosure and external components are stainless steel 1.4571 (AISI 316Ti), providing enhanced resistance to corrosion and pitting. Suitable for offshore installations, chemical plants, saline atmospheres, sulfurous gases, ammonium nitrate, and aggressive industrial environments.
Standard terminal accepts solid conductor 0.2–4.0 mm² or flexible/ferruled 0.2–2.5 mm², tightening torque 0.45–0.50 Nm, stripping length 7 mm. For outdoor use, a breather is required to limit condensation. Lid and shaft seals must be replaced when worn, or at least every 5 years.
Is selection based on PN or Class?
No. The unit does not contact process fluid. Selection is based on environment, sensor/output type, wiring, and actuator compatibility.
Is there an ATEX version?
The NEK standard range is for non-hazardous areas. For Ex zones, a certified Neptun version is required.
The neptun Box and all external parts are made of high-quality stainless steel (1.4571) and are therefore particularly resistant to corrosion and pitting. This makes it suitable for use in offshore applications and in the chemical industry, as well as in environments with a salty atmosphere, sulphur gases, ammonia nitrate and numerous other aggressive media.
