ARI-ZESA® Wafer Butterfly Valve

The ARI-ZESA® is a soft-sealing wafer-type butterfly valve with elongated centering holes for installation between EN 1092-1 flanges. It is primarily used as an isolation valve in water networks, HVAC, cooling systems, industrial utilities, and process air applications.

Seat Selection

Elastomer selection should be based on temperature, fluid, and chemical compatibility.

  • EPDM: -10 to +130 °C, suitable for water, cold/hot water, HVAC, and potable water with DVGW.
  • NBR: -10 to +80 °C, for air, inert gases, and applications with limited oil presence.
  • FPM: 0 to +150 °C, for specific chemicals or oily media; not recommended for hot water.

Actuation

ZESA can be delivered with lever, gearbox, chain gearbox, electric actuator, or pneumatic rotary actuator. Selection depends on operating torque, handling frequency, installation access, and automation signal.

ZESA vs. GESA

ZESA is wafer type and installed between two flanges. GESA is lug type with threaded holes and can be used when disconnection of one pipeline side or end-of-line valve function is required.

FAQs

Is it suitable for steam?
For continuous saturated steam, metal-sealed valves are usually preferred. ZESA should be evaluated based on temperature, pressure, and seat.

Does it require maintenance?
The design is maintenance-free without regular lubrication. In services with deposits, periodic operation and leakage checks are required.

Where is it commonly used?
In closed water circuits, cooling, air conditioning, pumping stations, utility networks, compressed air, and general industrial isolation lines.
