ARI-ZEDOX® 121 Double Eccentric Butterfly Valve

The ARI-ZEDOX® 121 is a double eccentric butterfly valve with butt-weld ends, not wafer or lug. It is selected for lines where flanged connections are not required, and the valve needs permanent integration into the piping network. The rotation is 90°, and the double eccentricity reduces disc/seat friction during opening and closing.

Sealing and Temperature

Two main seat versions are available:

  • PTFE+C / TS: -40 to +180 °C, leakage rate A per DIN EN 12266-1. Suitable for tight shut-off and PTFE chemical compatibility.
  • Stainless steel / CS: -40 to +260 °C, leakage rate B standard or A optional. For higher temperatures up to 400 °C, special manufacturer evaluation is required.

Pressure Limits

The maximum differential pressure is 16 bar in the basic version and 25 bar as an option. For PTFE+C, limits depend on DN, temperature, and pressure side. The metal seat CS allows bidirectional differential pressure of 25 bar across DN 200–1600.

Actuation

Available with gearbox, electric rotary actuator Auma, pneumatic or hydraulic actuator upon request. Actuator sizing should be based on Δp, temperature, seat type, cycle frequency, and fail position requirement.

Typical Applications

Used in steam, thermal circuits, process water, condensates, industrial gases, and energy lines where welded connections limit potential flange leaks.

FAQ

When is it chosen over ZEDOX 120?
When a butt-weld connection is required. ZEDOX 120 is wafer.

Is it suitable for throttling?
It can be used for limited throttling, but Kvs, torque, noise, cavitation, and disc position must be checked.
