Tassalini Food-Grade Butterfly Valves

Tassalini butterfly valves are sanitary quarter-turn valves designed for isolation and simple flow regulation in food, beverage, winery, dairy, and clean utility lines. Constructed from stainless steel AISI 304L / AISI 316L, with a disc made of AISI 316L and PTFE sliding rings on the shaft to minimize friction during rotation.

Technical Specifications

  • Maximum product pressure: 7 bar.
  • Recommended operating pressure: 6 bar.
  • With PTFE sealing rings: maximum pressure 2 bar.
  • General temperature range: -10 to +95 °C.
  • Finish: 120 grit, Ra approximately 1.01–1.14 μm max.
  • Connections: weld end, threaded end, liner + nut, flange, ferrule end.
  • Connection standards: DIN, SMS, RJT BS, IDF/ISS, BSP, Eno, Macon, Clamp.

Seats and Compatibility

Standard seat is food grade silicone. Also available are EPDM, FTM, PTFE-coated FTM, and PTFE + silicone. Seat selection should be based on product, temperature, CIP/SIP chemicals, fats, pH, and contact time. Indicative limits: silicone -50/+200 °C, EPDM -30/+140 °C, FTM -15/+220 °C, PTFE-coated FTM -10/+150 °C.

Handling and Automation

Manual versions come with handles that lock in intermediate positions for limited flow adjustment. Pneumatic versions can be horizontal or vertical, single or double-acting, with options for flow control, proximity switch, micro-switch, solenoid valve, and connector.

Size Range

The technical sheet lists manual valves from DN10 to DN250 and pneumatic from DN25 to DN100. The product page mentions production from DN25 to DN250. Orders should confirm DN, connection, seat, and handling type.

FAQ

Are they suitable for precise regulation?
Not as a control valve. They can be used for simple throttling at low ΔP.

What should be checked before selection?
Product, temperature, pressure, CIP medium, piping connection, seat material, and disassembly requirement for cleaning.

Description

Our butterfly valves are manufactured in Aisi 304L and Aisi 316L stainless steel and are obtained from hot-pressed and solubilized parts. The shutters are made from hot-pressed and solubilised Aisi 316L stainless steel parts, mechanically machined on all surfaces and ground on the rotating parts. The standard application of two PTFE bushes on the shafts of the shutters allows to eliminate the friction in the rotations.

The gaskets are produced with compression molding and with excellent quality elastomers. The standard elastomer is food grade silicone; on request, EPDM, FTM, PTFE coated PTFE, PTFE + silicone are available.

All flanges are interchangeable and the valves can be equipped with manual or pneumatic controls.

There is a wide range of manual controls to satisfy the different system requirements; the pneumatic controls can be horizontal or vertical with single acting, double effect and flow regulation, and can be fitted with proximity contact, microswitch, solenoid valve and connector.

Valves are manufactured in the dimensions DN 25 to DN 250 and 1/2″ to 10″.

The standard finish is 120 grit (Ra 1.01-1.14 µm max).

The maximum operating pressure is 7 bars;

2 bars for PTFE seal rings.
