TTV METAL COLOSSUS Butterfly Valve

The TTV METAL COLOSSUS is a high-performance double-offset butterfly valve designed for applications requiring low disk-seat friction and operation at higher temperatures than soft-seated butterfly valves. Available for DN32–DN600, it is installed between flanges PN10/16/25/40 or ANSI 150/300 lbs with a maximum operating pressure of 25 bar.

Standards and Connection

  • Connection: wafer / between flanges.
  • Face-to-face: EN 558 Series 20 or Series 13, ISO 5752, API 609, EN 593, BS 5155, MSS-SP-68.
  • Flanges: ISO 7005, DIN 2501, BS 4504, ANSI B16.5.
  • Top flange: ISO 5211.
  • Testing: API 598, ANSI/ASME B16.34, BS 1560, EN 593.

Materials and Metal Seat

Available with body in ASTM A216 WCB or ASTM A351 CF8M, disk in CF8M, and shaft in ASTM A182 F316 or F431. The metal seated version features an Inconel seat, graphite packing, and stainless bushing with PTFE/graphite coating. The technical datasheet specifies a temperature range of -50 to +360 °C, tightness Class V, and PN10/16/25.

Sealing Note

The general description of COLOSSUS indicates Class VI / Rate A for soft seat. For the metal seat version, Class V should be considered unless a different execution is confirmed by the manufacturer. This is critical in full isolation, steam, or thermal oil applications.

Applications

Suitable for saturated steam, thermal oil, bitumen/asphalt, lagging gas, corrosive fluids, cogeneration, and services where R-PTFE is not acceptable due to temperature or chemical compatibility. Actuator selection is based on DN, ΔP, temperature, seat type, and required torque.

FAQ

When to choose metal seat over R-PTFE?
When temperature, medium, or fire safety conditions do not allow for a polymeric seat.

Is it a control valve?
It can be used for throttling only after checking Cv/Kv, noise, cavitation, and operating angle.
