Range: From DN50 - DN400
End connection: Lug type
Flange connection: JIS, DIN PN10/PN16 & ANSI 150#
Temperature range: -40° to +450 °C
Face to face: acc. EN 558.1 row 20
The S97 is a high-performance lug-type butterfly valve designed for isolation lines requiring a metal body with lugs, short face-to-face dimensions, and actuator connectivity. It should not be confused with the S97/3 triple offset; the S97 is part of the high-performance series covering DN50–DN400.
Available bodies: EN-JS1030, ASTM A216 WCB, SS 1.4408, SD 2508.
Discs: SS 1.4408, 1.4470, aluminium bronze, SD 2507.
Shafts: 17-4PH, Duplex F51, Super Duplex F53, C6300.
Seats: PTFE, RPTFE, RPTFE + SS316, metal seated.
The S97 is available as bare shaft or with gearbox. Actuator selection should consider DN, differential closing pressure, seat material, and required torque. The lug design allows bolted retention to the flange, but any end-of-line use must be confirmed per pressure and DN.
Suitable for industrial water, hot liquids, air, neutral gases, and compatible chemical lines with PTFE/RPTFE seat. For steam, high temperature, or frequent throttling, check leakage class, thermal expansion, Kv/Cv, and actuator torque.
When to choose S97 over S96?
When a lug body is required instead of wafer and mechanical retention with lugs is needed.
Is it a control valve?
Not primarily. It can be used for limited throttling only after checking ΔP, velocity, noise, and seat wear.
