VALPES VS Electric Quarter-Turn Actuator

The VALPES VS is an electric actuator designed for quarter-turn (1/4 turn) operation of ball valves, butterfly valves, and plug valves. Torque range covers 40–300 Nm. Standard rotation is 90°, with optional 180° or 270° travel. The housing is aluminum with C4-class coating; cover options include PA6 UL94 V-0 or aluminum.

Technical Specifications

  • Power supply: 100–240 V AC / 100–350 V DC, 15–30 V AC / 12–48 V DC, or 400 V 3-phase.
  • Control: on-off or 3-point modulating. 400 V version is 3-point only.
  • Duty cycle: S4 50% (IEC34).
  • Valve interface: ISO 5211 F07/F10.
  • Ambient temperature: -20 to +70 °C, or -10 to +40 °C for BBPR.
  • Ingress protection: IP68 2 m / 72 h (plastic cover), IP68 5 m / 72 h (aluminum), optional 10 m / 72 h.

Control and Feedback

VS includes 2 adjustable position switches, manual override, visual indicator, anti-condensation heater, mechanical stops at 0°/90°, electronic torque limiter, fault relay, and RS485 (except 400 V version).

Variants: BBPR (battery spring return), POSI (analog control 4–20 mA or 0–10 V), 3 positions, POSI-BBPR, 3-position-BBPR, Modbus-RTU, Bluetooth / AXMART.

Selection Logic

Select actuator torque to exceed maximum valve torque. Use sizing factor 1.5× (standard) or 2× (POSI/analog) to account for differential pressure, seat type, deposits, and static periods.

Applications

Suitable for industrial water, air, HVAC, water treatment, auxiliary gases, marine systems, and process lines with medium torque requirements.
