VALPES Electric Actuator with 3 Positions

The 3 positions / GF3 function is implemented in VALPES electric actuators for valves requiring three discrete positions, rather than continuous analog modulation. This is relevant for 3-way valves or applications where an intermediate position is required before reaching fully open or closed states. Torque range covers 10 to 2400 Nm, depending on actuator series.

Operation

The GF3 option enables three-position control. Standard factory setting is 0° / 90° / 180°, suitable for most 3-way valves. Custom angles can be specified at order; available rotation can reach up to 270° depending on series.

Signals and Feedback

Three positions are controlled via 4 limit switches: FCO, FCF, FCIO, and FCIF. Feedback is provided by 3 auxiliary contacts (FC1, FC2, FC3). FC1/FC2 correspond to end positions; FC3 indicates the intermediate position.

When is 3 positions selected over POSI?
When three fixed positions are required, not continuous 0–10 V or 4–20 mA control.

What is checked during maintenance?
Limit switches, intermediate position, cable glands, enclosure sealing, manual override, torque limiter, and fault feedback signal.

DESCRIPTION

Actuators from 10 to 2400 Nm with an intermediate position between 0° and 90°, 180° or 270°. Can be used 3-way valve or for any application which requires a partial opening/closing before final position.
