VALPES Electric Actuator – Marine Version

The VALPES Marine version is an anti-corrosive coated configuration for electric actuators of the V range with aluminum housing. Designed for marine, offshore, and corrosive environments, selection is based not only on torque but also on surface protection, humidity resistance, and enclosure sealing.

Technical Selection Points

  • V Series Torque Range: 25–2400 Nm, model dependent.
  • Rotary operation 90° for ball, butterfly, and plug valves.
  • Available for on-off, 3-point, or analog control, depending on control board.
  • Options: BBPR, POSI, 3 positions, and Modbus (where compatible).
  • Ingress protection up to IP68, per actuator series specification.

Anti-Corrosion Protection

Marine version features ACQPA-compliant coating systems per NF EN ISO 12944-1, “high durability” category. Suitable for saline environments, condensation, water spray, engine rooms, and exposed deck installations.

Marine Applications

Used in ballast, bilge, cooling water, fuel service, lubrication oil, seawater, freshwater, tank filling/draining, and auxiliary ship networks. Media compatibility is determined by the valve and its materials; actuator selection is based on torque, IP rating, duty cycle, supply voltage, command type, and environmental classification.

Differences from Standard Version

The primary difference is enhanced surface protection for marine corrosion. Mechanical torque, ISO 5211 mounting, limit switches, feedback, and control options are as per the base VALPES series, with Marine coating applied as required.

FAQ

When is Marine coating required?
For external marine installations, offshore skids, engine rooms with high humidity, or areas exposed to salt-laden atmosphere.

What is checked during maintenance?
Cable glands, grounding, IP sealing, coating condition, manual override, limit switches, torque limiter, and feedback to PLC or ship automation system.

Description

DESCRIPTION

The "marine coating" version is the solution for marine applications. Suitable for corrosive atmospheres such as offshore duty.

The compliance with ACQPA* concerns coatings in accordance with the NF EN ISO 12 944-1 "high durability" class. We provide a 15-year warranty for our coatings.

Marine version is available for any V range actuator (aluminium cover).
