ALFA Gear VA Range Gearbox

The ALFA Gear VA Range is a manually operated worm gearbox designed for quarter-turn (1/4 turn) operation of butterfly valves, ball valves, plug valves, dampers, and other 90° rotary valves. This range is specified for applications requiring enhanced corrosion resistance and manual torque transmission in environments with water, humidity, seawater, or chemical vapors.

Construction Materials

Body, cover, position indicator, and shaft are manufactured from stainless steel SS316 / 1.4408. The quadrant is aluminium bronze C95400, worm is C45 carbon steel, fasteners are stainless steel A4. Sealing is NBR70, lubrication is Lithium EP2. Handwheels are also stainless steel 316.

Selection is based on the valve’s maximum torque at the most adverse differential pressure. Consider:

standstill time and potential deposits,
IP68 or submerged installation requirements,

Description

The Alfa Gears VA Range quarter turn gearboxes are manufactured with a stainless steel 316 (1.4408) housing, Coverplate, Inputshaft and an aluminium bronze (C95400) Quadrant.

The handwheels are made also made of stainless steel 316.

This VA Range is also applicable with several other applications such as padlock systems and limit switchbox systems
