Bernard Controls AT Electric Actuator

Bernard Controls AT series are multi-turn electric actuators designed for industrial isolation and control valves. For quarter-turn applications, they are paired with appropriate gearboxes for butterfly, ball, or plug valves. Direct output torque covers 12–500 Nm; higher torques are achievable with gear reducers as required by the application.

Control Versions

  • AT SWITCH: Electromechanical control with limit switches and torque switches.
  • AT LOGIC: Integrated control, reversing starters, LCD interface, position and torque sensors.
  • Operating classes: On-Off Class A, Inching / Positioning Class B, Modulating Class III per EN 15714-2.

Electrical and Mechanical Features

Available voltages include single-phase or three-phase supply up to 480 V, 50/60 Hz. Motors are TENV asynchronous with thermal protection, Class F insulation, and S4 duty cycle depending on usage class. Output is self-locking via planetary gearing and worm/wheel mechanism.

Environmental Protection

Housing is aluminum with polyester powder coating. Enclosure rating is IP68 / NEMA 4X, standard corrosion protection C4 per ISO 12944, C5 optional. Ambient temperature range -20 to +70 °C, with low-temperature option down to -40 °C.

Feedback and Communication

LOGIC version provides analog position and torque signals, positioner 4–20 mA or 0–10 V, Bluetooth, Modbus RTU, and Profibus DPV1. Torque setting is non-intrusive, adjustable from 40–100% of rated torque.

Applications

Used in water networks, steam, condensate, industrial gases, water treatment, and auxiliary process systems. Selection is based on valve torque, travel time, duty cycle, supply voltage, and feedback requirements.
