Clorius V4.03 / V4.05 / V4.10 – Self-Actuating Stainless Steel Thermostat

The Clorius V4.03, V4.05, and V4.10 are self-actuating thermostats designed for linear temperature control valves. The assembly includes a liquid-filled sensor, stainless steel capillary tube, and adjustment cylinder. Temperature changes in the sensor move the thermostat shaft, adjusting the valve to increase or decrease the flow of heating or cooling media.

Construction and Materials

  • Stainless steel construction for humid environments, outdoor installations, tanks, and marine applications.
  • Non-magnetic design for specialized installations, such as submarines.
  • Spring: 1.4401.
  • Capillary tube: 1.4301.
  • Adjustment cylinder: 1.4501.
  • Sensor material: 1.4436.

  • V4.05 settings: 0–120°C or 40–160°C.
  • Special setting ranges: -30 to 280°C.
  • Neutral zone: <2°C.
  • Overheat protection: 40°C.
  • Valve stroke up to 21 mm.
  • Compatible with valves up to DN150 in heating and cooling circuits.

Sensors and Capillary Tube

Available with rod sensors with 1" pipe thread according to ISO R7/1 or sensors without connection, with packbox on the capillary tube for tank immersion. The stainless steel capillary tube is available in lengths of 3–21 m.

Applications

Suitable for heat exchangers, tanks, thermal skids, district heating, marine systems, and outdoor installations requiring local analog control without electrical supply or pneumatic air. For cooling applications, use with a corresponding reverse acting valve.

Installation and Maintenance

A filter is recommended before the valve, along with shut-off valves for service and pipeline cleaning prior to installation. Up to 170°C, the thermostat can be mounted above or below the valve; for 170–350°C, installation below with a KS cooling unit is required. In installations with vibrations, support the adjustment cylinder and secure the capillary, leaving the area near the handle free.
