Clorius M2FR – Reverse Acting 2-Way Control Valve DN20–DN80

The Clorius M2FR is a flanged, double-seated control valve, PN16, designed for cooling applications. It is reverse acting / normally closed: it remains closed by spring force without an actuator and opens when force is applied to the stem. With a thermostat or actuator, it functions as a cooling valve, opening with temperature increase.

Construction and Standards

• DN20 to DN80.
• Body: EN-GJS-400-15.
• Stem, seats, and cone: stainless steel.
• Packing: graphite.
• Flanges per EN 1092-2.
• Counter flanges: DIN 2633 / BS 4504.
• Actuator connection: G1B per ISO 228.
• Flow characteristic: quadratic.
• Seat leakage: ≤0.5% of Kvs per VDI/VDE 2174.

• DN20: Kvs 5 m³/h, stroke 6.5 mm, max ΔpL 8.3 bar.
• DN25: Kvs 7.5 m³/h, stroke 7 mm, max ΔpL 8 bar.
• DN32: Kvs 12.5 m³/h, stroke 8 mm, max ΔpL 7 bar.
• DN40: Kvs 20 m³/h, stroke 9 mm, max ΔpL 6.6 bar.
• DN50: Kvs 30 m³/h, stroke 10 mm, max ΔpL 5.8 bar.

Applications

The M2FR is used in cooling water networks, heat exchangers, oil cooling, industrial cooling loops, and marine installations. Selection is based on Kvs, available Δp, actuator force, medium temperature, and acceptable double-seat leakage.

Installation

The valve can be installed with a vertical or horizontal stem. Up to 170°C, the thermostat or actuator can be mounted above or below the valve. Above 170°C, a cooling unit or high-temperature adapter is required.
