The Clorius M1FBN is a flanged, single-seated, balanced control valve designed for hot water, steam, and thermal oil applications. It is utilized when differential pressure requires a closing force greater than what a standard actuator can provide on a simple single-seated valve, yet double-seated leakage is unacceptable.
The flow characteristic is quadratic, maintained until the flow drops below approximately 4% of full flow. Seat leakage is ≤0.05% of Kvs according to VDI/VDE 2174, with a regulating capability Kvs/Kvr >25.
Without an actuator, the valve remains open via a spring. It closes with force on the stem. With Clorius thermostats, pneumatic or electric actuators, it can close upon temperature increase. In cooling circuits, a reverse acting electric actuator is required.
Suitable for heat exchangers, central heating, district heating, steam circuits, thermal oils, industrial processes, and marine installations. Selection is based on Kvs, available Δp, medium temperature, body material, and required leakage class.
Mounting with vertical or horizontal stem. Up to 170°C, the actuator or thermostat can be mounted above or below. Above 170°C, a cooling unit for the thermostat or a high-temperature adaptor for the electric actuator is required.
