The Clorius L2S is a two-way regulating valve with threaded connections, gun metal RG5 body, and nominal pressure PN16. The DN40–DN50 version features a double-seated design, offering linear flow characteristics and reduced actuator force requirements compared to single-seated valves.
The technical datasheet specifies use for regulating hot water and lubricating oils. The catalog page also lists applications in cooling, heating, demi water, compressed air, solar energy, and steam; steam applications require temperature, pressure, and material compatibility checks per installation.
The pressure/temperature diagram follows DIN 2401, indicating PN16 operation with pressure derating at higher temperatures.
Without an actuator, the valve remains open via spring. It closes with shaft pressure. Compatible with self-acting Clorius thermostats, differential pressure controllers, or electric actuators. In temperature rise, with appropriate thermostat or actuator, the valve closes. For cooling circuits, use reverse acting actuator or reverse acting setup.
When to choose L2S over L1S/L1SB?
When larger DN40–DN50 bore and acceptable double-seated leakage are required.
Is it a tight shut-off valve?
No. Leakage is up to 0.5% of Kvs, thus not replacing a shut-off valve.
How is it installed?
With vertical or horizontal shaft. Above 170°C, a cooling unit for thermostat or high-temperature adaptor for electric actuator is required.
