Clorius M2FR – Reverse Acting Control Valve DN100–DN150

The Clorius M2FR is a flanged two-way control valve designed for cooling applications, featuring a reverse acting / normally closed operation. Without an actuator, the valve remains closed by spring force; it opens when actuator force is applied. In combination with a thermostat or differential pressure controller, it opens with rising temperature, increasing the flow of the cooling medium.

Construction and Standards

  • DN100, DN125, DN150.
  • Nominal Pressure: PN16.
  • Flanges EN 1092-2 PN16, ANSI options available on product page.
  • Actuator connection: G1B as per ISO 228.
  • Seats, cone, and stem: stainless steel.
  • Gasket: graphite.
  • Double-seated construction.
  • Seat leakage: ≤0.5% of Kvs as per VDI/VDE 2174.
  • Control ratio: Kvs/Kvr >25.

Material note: The technical brochure mentions EN-GJL-250, while the material table shows EN-GJS-400-15. Confirm the exact body material from the code for orders or replacements in existing lines.

Kvs, Stroke, and ΔpL

  • DN100: Kvs 125 m³/h, stroke 20 mm, max ΔpL 12.1 bar, actuator force 800 N.
  • DN125: Kvs 215 m³/h, stroke 20 mm, max ΔpL 9 bar, actuator force 800 N.
  • DN150: Kvs 310 m³/h, stroke 20 mm, max ΔpL 7.5 bar, actuator force 800 N.

Applications

The M2FR is used in cooling water circuits, heat exchanger cooling, oil cooling, marine installations, and industrial cooling loops with high flow rates. Selection is based on Kvs, available differential pressure, actuator force, acceptable double-seat leakage, and medium temperature.

Installation

The valve can be installed with a vertical or horizontal stem. Up to 170°C, the thermostat or actuator can be mounted above or below the valve. Above 170°C, a cooling unit for the thermostat or a high-temperature adapter for the electric actuator is required.
