The Clorius L1S is a single-seat control valve with a gun metal RG5 body and stainless steel internals. It is used with thermostats, pneumatic, or electric actuators for flow control in thermal circuits. Although the commercial route mentions "linear," the technical brochure specifies a quadratic flow characteristic.
The L1S is applicable for low, medium, or high-pressure hot water, steam, and lubricating oils. The product page also mentions compressed air, cooling, demi water, heating, and solar energy. Typical uses include exchangers, small thermal skids, district heating, industrial processes, and maritime installations.
Without an actuator, the valve remains open via a spring. It closes with pressure on the stem. Combined with a thermostat, pneumatic, or electric actuator, the valve closes as temperature increases. For cooling circuits, a reverse acting electric actuator or reverse acting valve with a self-acting thermostat is used.
It can be installed with a vertical or horizontal stem. For valve temperatures up to 170°C, the thermostat or actuator can be mounted above or below the valve. Above 170°C, a cooling unit for thermostats or a high-temperature adaptor for electric actuators is required.
Is it suitable for steam?
Yes, with pressure, temperature, Kvs, and material checks.
Is it an on/off valve?
Not only. It is a single-seat control valve with defined Kvs and flow characteristic.
When to choose small opening DN15/6 or DN15/9?
When smaller flow and better control capability at low load are required.
