The Clorius L2SR is a two-way control valve designed for cooling applications, featuring a gun metal RG5 body, threaded connections ISO 7-1 / BSP, and PN16 rating. It is reverse acting / normally closed: remains closed by spring force without an actuator, and opens with shaft pressure. When paired with a thermostat, pneumatic, or electric actuator, it functions as a cooling valve, opening as temperature increases.
The maximum closing differential pressure depends on the spring, as the valve is mechanically held closed. To open, the actuator must overcome the spring force. The technical sheet specifies actuator force of 400 N, with maximum ΔpL of 2.7 bar for DN40 and 1.8 bar for DN50.
The L2SR is primarily used for cooling water, seawater, and lubricating fluids in industrial processes and marine installations. It is suitable for circuits where temperature increase should enhance coolant flow, such as heat exchanger cooling, oil cooling, and thermal protection of machinery.
Installation is permissible with vertical or horizontal shaft. Up to 170°C, the thermostat or actuator can be mounted above or below the valve. Above 170°C, a cooling unit for the thermostat or high-temperature adapter for the electric actuator is required.
