Clorius H2FR DN100–DN150 – Reverse Acting 2-Way Control Valve

The Clorius H2FR is a flanged, double-seated 2-way control valve designed for high-flow cooling applications. It operates in a reverse acting / normally closed mode: without an actuator, the valve remains closed by a spring; it opens when force is applied to the stem. In setups with a thermostat or differential pressure controller, it opens with rising temperature, increasing the flow of the cooling medium.

Construction and Standards

  • Sizes: DN100, DN125, DN150.
  • Body: Cast steel GP240GH / GS-C25.
  • Internal Parts: Stainless steel.
  • Design: Double-seated.
  • Actuator Connection: G1B as per ISO 228.
  • Flanges: EN 1092-1.
  • Seat Leakage: ≤0.5% of Kvs as per VDI/VDE 2174.
  • Flow Characteristic: Nearly quadratic.
  • Control Ratio: Kvs/Kvr >25.

PN, Kvs, and ΔpL

  • DN100: PN25, Kvs 125 m³/h, stroke 20 mm, max ΔpL 12.1 bar, actuator force 800 N.
  • DN125: PN25, Kvs 215 m³/h, stroke 20 mm, max ΔpL 9 bar, actuator force 800 N.
  • DN150: PN16, Kvs 310 m³/h, stroke 20 mm, max ΔpL 7.5 bar, actuator force 800 N.

For DN150, the technical datasheet indicates PED approval only for PN16; PN25 is available for non-PED applications.

Selection is based on Kvs, available differential pressure, medium temperature, required actuator force, and acceptable double-seated leakage.

Installation

The H2FR can be installed with a vertical or horizontal stem. Up to 170°C, the thermostat or actuator can be mounted above or below the valve. Above 170°C, a cooling unit for the thermostat or a high-temperature adapter for the electric actuator is required.
