Tecfluid – Technical profile of a flow and level measurement instrumentation manufacturer

Tecfluid S.A. is a Spanish manufacturer of flow and level measurement instruments for industrial liquids, gases, steam and process utilities. The product range includes variable area flowmeters, electromagnetic flowmeters, positive displacement meters, target flowmeters, bypass orifice flowmeters, flow switches, level indicators, level switches and transmitters.

Variable area flowmeters provide local indication of flow through the position of a float. They are suitable for simple visual indication of liquids and gases. Metallic versions are used for higher pressure, temperature or opaque fluids.

Electromagnetic flowmeters are used for conductive liquids. Selection requires liquid conductivity, full pipe conditions, grounding, liner material, electrode material, flow velocity and available straight pipe lengths.

Positive displacement meters are used for volumetric totalisation and dosing, especially in clean liquids, oils, fuels, paints, resins, viscous fluids and similar media. Upstream filtration and fluid cleanliness are important.

Target flowmeters are used for liquids and gases under more demanding pressure, temperature or solids conditions. They require evaluation of density, velocity, pressure drop and vibration.

Level products include magnetic float level switches, vibrating fork switches, bypass magnetic level indicators and top-mounted level transmitters. Selection depends on tank geometry, pressure, temperature, density, material compatibility, alarm points and required output signal.

Tecfluid instruments should be selected from the measurement duty: medium, range, accuracy, pressure, temperature, viscosity, solids, conductivity, output signal and hazardous area classification.
