Tecfluid Series 2000 Glass Tube Variable Area Flowmeter

The Tecfluid 2000 series is a variable area flowmeter designed for low flow measurement of liquids and gases. The float operates within a borosilicate glass tapered tube; its equilibrium position corresponds to the flow rate. Indication is local, with scale options in l/h, l/min, %, or other process units.

Variants and Materials

Models 2100, 2150, and 2300 feature ¼” BSP/NPT connections; model 2340 uses ½” BSP/NPT. Wetted parts are EN 1.4404 / AISI 316L. The measuring tube is borosilicate glass. Floats are available in AISI 316L, glass, plastic, aluminum, or ceramic, depending on flow range and media compatibility.

Flow Control and Switches

Needle valves are used for local flow adjustment. For liquids and gases vented to atmosphere, the valve is typically installed upstream; for compressed gases, it is installed downstream to maintain calibration pressure. Fixed flow regulators RCA/RCD require a differential pressure of approximately 350–450 mbar.

One or two limit switches available: AMR reed switch or AMD NAMUR EN 60947-5-6 inductive. AMD version is suitable for ATEX Ex ia applications, subject to certification and installation requirements.

Installation

Install vertically with upward flow. A deviation of may cause 8–10% reading error. A filter with maximum 200 μm mesh is recommended upstream to prevent float or valve blockage.

Applications

Used in control panels, pilot plants, laboratory setups, gas burners, cooling circuits, water treatment, small chemical dosing, and bubble tube hydrostatic level systems.
