Variable Area Flowmeter Tecfluid PS

The Tecfluid PS series is a variable area flowmeter with a plastic measuring tube, suitable for both liquids and gases. The float operates within a conical tube; its equilibrium position directly indicates flow rate on a scale in l/h, m³/h, or %.

Operating Ranges

• Water: 4 l/h to 50 m³/h
• Air: 200 Nl/h to 1500 Nm³/h
• Accuracy: PS ±4%, PSM / PTM03 ±6% (per VDI/VDE 3513 sheet 2)
• Turndown ratio: 10:1
• Operating pressure: 8–15 bar (depending on size)
• Ambient temperature: -20 to +60 °C

Materials and Connections

Measuring tube: Polysulfone (PS/PSM), NAS® (PTM03). Wetted parts available in PVC, PP, carbon steel, or EN 1.4404 / AISI 316L. Floats: AISI 316L, aluminum, PVC, PVDF, or PTFE. Sealing options: NBR, EPDM, Viton.

Connections: ½” to 3” BSP/NPT, PVC socket (solvent weld), PP or stainless steel weld ends, and flanges per ISO 1452-3 / ASME B16.5 (DN15–DN80).

Electrical Outputs

Available with 1 or 2 adjustable reed switches (PT-AMR), or PT/PTM-TMUR sensor with 4–20 mA transmitter. Optional protocols: HART, PROFIBUS, FIELDBUS, MODBUS RTU RS485 (depending on configuration).

Installation

Install vertically with upward flow. Deviation of ~5° may introduce ~10% error. Upstream filtration (≤200 μm) recommended. Straight pipe runs: 5 × DN upstream, 3 × DN downstream.
