Tecfluid Series 6000 Glass Tube Variable Area Flowmeter

The Tecfluid 6000 series is a variable area flowmeter designed for liquid and gas measurement. The float moves within a borosilicate glass tapered tube, with its position indicating flow rate. Local indication is provided in l/h, m³/h, kg/h, l/min, or % of scale, depending on configuration.

Operating Ranges

  • Air: 45 Nl/h to 1500 Nm³/h

Materials and Connections

The measuring tube is borosilicate glass with polycarbonate protective cover. Wetted parts are available in galvanized/painted steel, EN 1.4404 / AISI 316L, PVC, PP, PTFE, or PVDF. Floats are selected from AISI 316L, aluminum, PVC, PP, PTFE, or PVDF, based on media compatibility and flow range.

Connections: ½” to 3” BSP/NPT, flanges EN 1092-1 DN15…DN80, ASME B16.5 ½”…3”, PVC socket, stainless steel weld ends, and sanitary connections ISO 2852, SMS 1145, DIN 11851, TRI-CLAMP®.

Outputs and Automation

Available with 1 or 2 limit switches: 60-AMM microswitches, 60-AMD inductive switches, PT-AMR reed switches. For analog output, 60-TMUR transmitter provides 4–20 mA, 2-wire, 24 VDC, with options for Ex ia, HART, FIELDBUS, PROFIBUS, and MODBUS RTU RS485 via MT03A.

Installation

Install vertically with upward flow. For liquids, the control valve is typically installed at the inlet. For gases, valve position depends on calibration pressure to minimize errors from pressure and density variations. A filter with maximum 200 μm opening is recommended upstream.

Applications

Used in water treatment, heating/cooling circuits, laboratories, gas burner control, chemical dosing lines, thermal processing furnaces, and flow test loops.
