Tecfluid PR Orifice Plate Flowmeter with Bypass

The Tecfluid PR series measures high flow rates using an orifice plate in combination with a bypass flowmeter. The differential pressure generated across the orifice plate is proportional to the main line flow and diverts a small, measurable flow through the bypass meter, providing a local indication of the primary flow. Suitable for liquids, gases, and steam in industrial process lines.

PR and PRC Variants

PR61, PR62, PR31, PR25 are modular: the orifice plate and bypass flowmeter are connected on site via 15/20 mm pipework. PRC61 and PRC31 are compact assemblies integrating orifice, isolation valves, and bypass meter in a single unit.

Temperature and Pressure Ratings

Selection depends on material and submodel. Typical values: PR61/62 Fe or SS -20…+80 °C, PR31 up to +100 °C, plastics up to +60/+80 °C. PR25 SS covers -50…+300 °C, with special options to -180…+400 °C. PR61/62/31 rated up to 15 bar at the bypass; orifice plate pressure class per DN and PN10/PN16.

Outputs and Certifications

Available with reed switches, microswitches, inductive sensors NAMUR EN 60947-5-6, transmitters 4–20 mA, HART, and MODBUS RTU RS485, depending on model. ATEX / IECEx Ex ia or Ex d versions available.

Installation Guidelines

Requires straight pipe runs of 10 × DN upstream and 7 × DN downstream. Pipe must be fully filled; correct flow direction through the orifice is critical to avoid significant indication error. Upstream filtration to 2 mm is recommended.
