Tecfluid TM Turbine Flowmeter

The Tecfluid TM is a turbine flowmeter designed for clean liquids with low to medium viscosity. The helical rotor rotates at a speed proportional to the flow rate. An external pickup coil generates a pulse signal, which is converted to flow rate, total volume, 4–20 mA, or pulse output via appropriate electronics.

Materials and Connections

Body: EN 1.4404 / AISI 316L. Rotor available in AISI 431 / AISI 329 / AISI 430. Shaft and bearings: tungsten carbide / graphite. Connections: flanges EN 1092-1 DN15–DN150, ASME B16.5 ½”–6”, BSP/NPT threads, and sanitary fittings ISO 2852, SMS 1145, DIN 11851, TRI-CLAMP®.

Electronics and Outputs

Available modules: CIP II for totalization (battery powered), CP420 / CH420 for flow/volume indication and 4–20 mA, CH420 with HART, MT03F for batch control and alarms, DFD420 for pulse scaling/division. ATEX Exd version available. Basic pickup can be classified as simple apparatus per EN 60079-11 when used with suitable isolator or Zener barrier.

Installation and Maintenance

Piping must be full, free of air or vacuum. Require 10 × DN upstream and 7 × DN downstream, or 5 × DN upstream with flow straightener. Install filter before meter; manual specifies max opening 200 μm to protect rotor. Control valves downstream, pumps upstream to minimize cavitation.

Applications

Chemical and petrochemical lines, tank filling, batch dosing, fuel consumption monitoring in burners, condensate measurement in boiler rooms. Not suitable for gases or steam in vapor phase.
