Tecfluid LS – Level Indicator with Switch and Transmitter Options

The Tecfluid LS series is a level indication instrument for liquids, designed for top vertical mounting on tanks. The float follows the liquid level and transmits the indication via magnetic coupling to an external indicator, with no mechanical penetration of the chamber into the process fluid. The device can function as a local level indicator, level switch, or continuous transmitter depending on configuration.

Variants

  • LS20: Indication via external float in borosilicate glass tube, flanged connection.
  • LS21: Similar indication with threaded connection.
  • LSL20 / LSL21: Indication via bi-color magnetic strips, available for flanged or threaded connections.

Available options include adjustable reed APR/AAR contacts, AMM microswitches, AMD NAMUR inductive switches (EN 60947-5-6), and LTE 4–20 mA transmitter with reed/resistor chain. Protocols: HART, PROFIBUS, Fieldbus, and Modbus RTU via MT03L.

Applications

Used in chemical and petrochemical plants, storage tanks, thermal installations, cryogenic applications, and processes requiring local level indication with optional alarms or analog output.

Certifications

Basic LS mechanical design is outside ATEX 2014/34/EU scope if no ignition source is present. Reed contacts APR/AAR may be classified as Simple Apparatus (EN 60079-11:2013) only with intrinsically safe circuits. LTE transmitter versions available with Ex db IIC / Ex tb IIIC certification.

Is continuous measurement possible?
Yes, with LTE 4–20 mA transmitter. Without transmitter, operates as local indicator only.

When to select LSL over LS?
Choose LSL when magnetic strip indication is preferred over external float in glass tube.
