Hand-held
Hand-held eye wash units are used at workstations where directed flushing of the eyes is required after exposure to chemicals, dust, particulates, or liquid splashes. Compared with fixed wall-mounted or floor-mounted systems, a hand-operated unit provides localized water delivery for bench-level use, industrial sinks, restricted-access positions, and rinsing of areas adjacent to the eyes.
This category includes B-Safety ClassicLine and PremiumLine hand-held eye wash units with one or two spray heads, including 45° nozzle versions. Available configurations cover deck-mounted and wall-mounted installation, support brackets, a 1.5 m flexible hose, and a 1/2" female water inlet. Single-nozzle versions operate typically at 7 l/min over a supply pressure range of 1.5 to 5 bar. Two-nozzle versions operate at 14 l/min over 2.5 to 5 bar.
PremiumLine versions use stainless steel for wetted parts, with a polished surface, integrated flow control, and a backflow prevention device to protect the potable water network. The high-dispersion spray heads incorporate dust caps and a plastic spray plate so that flushing remains uniform and mechanically non-aggressive during eye irrigation.
Selection should consider hazard location, required access distance, available supply pressure, water quality, drainage provision, compliance with EN 15154-2:2006 and ANSI Z358.1-2014, and EN 1717 / DIN 1988 requirements for protection of the drinking water system. Maintenance checks should cover flow rate, spray heads, dust caps, flexible hose condition, operating valve function, and verification of backflow preventer operation.
