Body Safety Showers
Category covers B-Safety full-body emergency showers for industrial plants and laboratories where personnel may be exposed to chemicals, caustic agents, hot liquids, or other irritant media. Available configurations include wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, recessed, exposed-pipe installation, over-door installation, and versions actuated by pull rod diversion, supplied in ClassicLine and PremiumLine series.
Configuration selection depends on hazard location, access path, room geometry, pipe routing constraints, and inspection requirements. Exposed-pipe designs allow direct visual inspection and easier maintenance access. Recessed and ceiling-mounted executions are used where equipment projection must be minimized or where installation space is restricted. PremiumLine units use polished stainless steel construction. ClassicLine versions combine stainless steel and polymer components with chemically resistant green coating.
Typical technical data include operating pressure 1.5-3 bar, nominal flow rate 50 l/min, with optional 75 and 110 l/min versions, and 3/4" water connection. Actuation is via ball valve and pull rod. An automatic flow regulator maintains a stable spray pattern within the specified pressure range. The shower head is self-draining and designed to limit sediment build-up while providing uniform, non-injurious water distribution for decontamination of the body surface.
Installation should be connected to a water supply with verified hydraulic capacity, including assessment of static and dynamic pressure at the point of use. Piping layout should avoid dead legs and permit routine functional testing. Where site procedures require event monitoring or remote alarm transmission, a flow switch or alarm interface can be added. Referenced compliance standards include EN 15154, ANSI Z358.1, DIN-DVGW, DIN 1988, and EN 1717, with safety marking according to EN ISO 7010 / ASR A1.3.
