B-Safety BR 088 085 ClassicLine Body Safety Shower
Wall-mounted emergency body shower with exposed piping and activation via a pull rod with angular deflection. The configuration allows the valve to be installed either to the right or left of a door or access corridor, enabling the operator to activate the shower from a safe movement path. Designed for rapid deployment in industrial environments where chemical exposure risk is present.
Technical Specifications
- Water connection: ¾" female
- Arm projection: 630 mm
- Installation height: 2345 mm ±100 mm
- Dynamic operating pressure: 1.5–3 bar
- Standard flow rate: 50 l/min
- Available flow rates: 75 l/min or 110 l/min
- Pull rod: 700 mm with control ring
Construction and Materials
Wall flange, connecting pipe, and arm are stainless steel with green chemically resistant coating. The ball valve is dezincification-resistant brass, DIN-DVGW tested and certified. Shower head is chemically resistant plastic, self-draining, with integrated flow regulator. All wetted parts are selected for compatibility with typical decontamination media.
Selection Criteria
The 50 l/min version is suitable for standard body decontamination. 75 and 110 l/min variants are specified where risk assessment requires higher hydraulic capacity. Prior to installation, verify dynamic pressure, available flow for at least 15 minutes, distance from hazard zone, and flushing water temperature. Guidelines specify access within 5 s and 5–10 m from hazard point.
Standards and Use
Referenced standards: EN 15154-2:2006, EN 15154-5:2019, ANSI Z358.1-2014, DIN-DVGW, GOST-R. Technical documentation also cites EN 15154-1:2006.
Applicable for chemical laboratories, chemical storage, paint shops, CIP areas, water treatment units, and personnel transit points where lateral rod activation is preferable to direct vertical pull. Suitable for water as the process medium; not intended for steam or aggressive solvents. Maintenance should include periodic functional testing and inspection for leakage or actuator wear.
