The OMC RE20L is a digital electro-pneumatic positioner for linear control valves with pneumatic actuators. It accepts a standard 4–20 mA DC analog signal from PLC/DCS or process controllers and modulates pneumatic output to the actuator, ensuring valve stem position tracks the setpoint. The microprocessor supports auto-calibration and field-adjustable PID parameters.
RE20L supports valve characteristic selection: Linear, Quick Open, Equal Percentage, or custom. Features include split range, tight shut-close/open, and manual zero/end adjustment for actuator or valve maintenance.
Used on control valves for steam, chilled water, hot water, instrument air, and process utility lines. Suitable for flow, pressure, level, or temperature control loops in heat exchangers, bypass lines, manifolds, and HVAC units.
Available for single-acting or double-acting actuators, with gauge block and optional position transmitter. For small-volume actuators, a 1 mm orifice can be installed to minimize hunting. Air vent/drain orientation should be downward to prevent condensate ingress.
When to select RE20L vs RE20R?
RE20L is for linear valve travel. RE20R is for rotary (quarter-turn) actuators.
What should be checked before selection?
Valve stroke, actuator type, available air pressure, need for 4–20 mA feedback, air connection type, and Ex certification requirements for hazardous areas.
