Valpres Radiamont 710 Stainless Steel Ball Valve

Three-piece ball valve in stainless steel ASTM A351 CF8M, used for on/off isolation in process and utility pipework where maintainability and corrosion-resistant metallurgy are required.

Technical characteristics

  • Pressure rating: PN64 up to 1/2”, PN40 up to 1”, PN25 up to 2”, PN16 up to 4”
  • Temperature range: -20°C to +160°C
  • End connections: BSP, NPT, ISO 7 Rp, socket weld, butt weld
  • Body / ends: ASTM A351 CF8M
  • Ball: ASTM A479 TP316 or ASTM A351 CF8M
  • Stem: ASTM A479 TP316
  • Seats: PTFE or glass-filled PTFE
  • Body seat / stem seat: PTFE
  • Antifriction ring: TFM
  • O-ring: FKM / Viton

Three-piece construction

The centre body section can be removed for inspection of seats, seals and ball surfaces while the end connections remain installed in the line. This is useful in welded pipework because maintenance can be performed without cutting the valve out of the system.

Typical applications and suitable media

  • Process water, treated water and utility water
  • Compressed air and neutral gases
  • Compatible chemical liquids
  • Oils and non-aggressive hydrocarbon services compatible with FKM
  • Industrial HVAC and general plant isolation duties

Media compatibility shall be checked against CF8M stainless steel, PTFE or glass-filled PTFE seats, TFM components and FKM elastomers. The valve is intended for isolation service, not throttling control.

Standards and documentation considerations

  • Material reference: ASTM A351 CF8M, ASTM A479 TP316
  • Threaded connection references include BSP, NPT and ISO 7 Rp
  • Pressure class selection shall follow the PN rating for the selected size
  • Project requirements such as EN 10204 material certificates, PED, ATEX, fire-safe testing or fugitive-emission documentation must be verified against the ordered configuration

Sealing and variant selection

PTFE seats are used for broad chemical compatibility and low operating torque. Glass-filled PTFE may be selected where improved seat strength or reduced deformation is required. FKM / Viton O-rings must be checked for temperature and chemical resistance, especially with solvents, steam, or aggressive chemicals.

Stainless steel versus carbon steel variant

The stainless steel Radiamont 710 is selected instead of a carbon steel version when the process fluid, external atmosphere, washdown conditions or corrosion risk require CF8M metallurgy. For non-corrosive utility services, carbon steel may be evaluated where compatible with the fluid and plant specification.

Actuation options

The valve is commonly used with a manual lever. For automated isolation, pneumatic or electric actuation shall be checked against operating torque, cycling frequency, fail position, mounting interface, ambient conditions and process temperature.

FAQ

Can it be serviced in-line? Yes. The three-piece body allows removal of the centre section while the pipe ends remain installed.

Can it be used for control? It is primarily an isolation valve. Continuous throttling can damage seats and increase leakage risk.

What must be checked before ordering? Size, connection type, PN rating by diameter, temperature, medium compatibility, seat material, elastomer compatibility and any required certificates.
