Variant Comparison
| Code | End connection | Typical selection case |
|---|---|---|
| 710063 | ISO 7 Rp threaded | Removable services, utilities, skid piping, maintenance access required |
| 710064 | Socket Weld | Small-bore welded process lines where threaded joints are not preferred |
| 710065 | Butt Weld | Welded piping systems requiring continuous pipe bore and reduced joint leakage risk |
Suitable Media and Operating Context
Applicable to steam up to 15 bar, water, compressed air, fuels, oils and industrial fluids compatible with A352 LCB, stainless steel trim, PTFE-carbographite seats and FKM elastomers. Final selection should verify pressure, temperature, fluid chemistry, cycling frequency and leakage class requirements.
Standards and Certifications
SIL 3, TÜV and ATEX documentation may be available on request. Certification requirements should be specified during procurement, especially for safety instrumented functions, hazardous areas or regulated plant documentation.
Actuation and Control Options
The valve may be specified for manual isolation or evaluated for pneumatic, electric or hydraulic actuation where torque data, stem interface and mounting arrangement are compatible. For automated on-off service, actuator sizing should consider differential pressure, breakaway torque, service temperature and required fail position.
Sealing and Maintenance Notes
- PTFE-carbographite seats support industrial isolation duties and improve thermal/mechanical stability versus standard PTFE.
- FKM O-rings require media and temperature compatibility verification.
- The three-piece construction supports maintenance of internal parts when piping layout allows access.
- Weld-end versions require controlled welding procedures to avoid heat damage to soft seats and seals.
FAQ
When should the threaded version be selected?
Use 710063 where the piping class permits ISO 7 Rp threads and periodic removal is required.
When are welded ends preferred?
Use 710064 or 710065 where threaded leakage paths are not acceptable or where the plant piping specification requires welded joints.
Is the valve suitable for modulating control?
It is primarily an isolation ball valve. Throttling service should be avoided unless the manufacturer confirms suitability for the specific pressure drop and duty cycle.
