4G Ghidini 5201 2-way ball valve

Type 5201 is a manually operated three-piece ball valve for stainless-steel process lines with sanitary connections. It is selected where the line must be opened for cleaning, inspection, seat replacement or batch changeover without cutting the pipework.

Technical characteristics

  • Construction: three-piece body, 2-way on/off valve
  • Operation: manual stainless-steel lever; automation options may be specified by valve configuration
  • Body material: AISI 316L / EN 1.4404
  • Standard seats: virgin PTFE
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to +160°C with standard seats
  • Pressure classes: PN 16 / PN 25 / PN 40 / PN 64, depending on size and execution
  • Port: full bore or reduced bore, according to valve size
  • Function: flow isolation, not throttling control

Connections and operating use

The 5201 belongs to the 4G Ghidini three-piece sanitary valve range. It is used on clean industrial services where the end connections must be removable and where maintenance access to the ball and seats is required.

Typical media include:

  • process water
  • CIP solutions
  • food and beverage products
  • clean liquids
  • inert gases
  • chemicals compatible with 316L stainless steel and PTFE

Standards, documentation and selection notes

  • Sanitary connection standard depends on the selected 5201 variant and project piping specification.
  • Material traceability, surface finish requirements and food-contact declarations should be confirmed at order stage.
  • Seat material must be checked against temperature, cleaning chemistry, pressure class and required leakage performance.

Difference from type 5101

Type 5101 refers to the DIN 32676 clamp connection version. Type 5201 is used when the installation requires a different sanitary connection standard while retaining the same three-piece maintenance concept.

Sealing options

  • Glass-filled PTFE up to +170°C
  • Carbographite-filled PTFE up to +180°C
  • Stainless-steel-filled PTFE up to +200°C
  • UHMWPE up to +80°C

FAQ

Is this a control valve?
No. It is intended for fully open or fully closed service. Intermediate positioning may increase seat wear and does not provide characterized flow control.

When is a three-piece body selected?
When maintenance teams need access to the seats and ball without full removal of the pipe spool or permanent disassembly of the process line.
