Ball Valve 3-pieces - Type 140/141/142/143 IMF | ICP

ICP 140/141/142/143 IMF Three-Piece Ball Valve

Full-bore isolation ball valve for industrial liquid and gas services. The three-piece body allows removal of the centre section for inspection of seats, body gaskets and ball without complete removal of the pipework. Size range: 1/4”–4” / DN8–DN100. Main materials: stainless steel 1.4408 / CF8M body and AISI 316 ball.

Connection variants

  • 141 IMF: NPT threaded ends to ASME B1.20.1.
  • 142 IMF: socket weld ends to ASME B16.11 and DIN 3239-2.
  • 143 IMF: butt weld ends to ASME B16.25 and DIN 3239-1.
  • 143 IMF L: extended butt weld ends, used where welding heat input near the seat area must be reduced.

Pressure, temperature and sealing

The series is rated 1000 WOG, with PN63 up to DN50 and PN25 for DN65–DN100. With PTFE seats, the pressure/temperature envelope covers -20 °C to 200 °C, subject to pressure derating at elevated temperature.

  • Seats: PTFE.
  • Stem packing and body gaskets: PTFE.
  • O-ring: FKM.
  • Seat tightness: EN 12266-1, leakage rate A.

Typical applications and suitable media

  • Low and medium pressure steam, condensate and hot water isolation.
  • Compressed air, nitrogen and utility gas lines.
  • Process chemicals compatible with AISI 316 and PTFE.
  • CIP lines, process water, oils and neutral fluids.

Actuation and control interface

The valve is supplied with a lockable lever. The ISO 5211 mounting pad permits installation of pneumatic or electric actuators. Actuator sizing should consider operating torque, DN, differential pressure, cycling frequency and required opening or closing time.

Standards and certifications

Available documentation and references include EN 10204 2.2, CE, PED 2014/68/EU, EN 12266-1 and EN ISO 17292. Technical documentation also indicates Ex II 2G D marking where the complete installed assembly is suitable for the classified area.

Selection notes

  • Use threaded ends where removal and replacement are expected.
  • Use socket weld or butt weld ends for welded process pipework.
  • Use extended BW ends where welding temperature must be kept away from PTFE seats.
  • Check chemical compatibility of the medium with CF8M/AISI 316, PTFE and FKM.

FAQ

Can the valve be serviced in line?
The centre body can be removed for inspection of seats, gaskets and ball, provided the line is isolated, depressurised and drained.
Is it suitable for throttling?
It is a full-bore isolation valve. Continuous throttling should be avoided unless the duty has been checked for seat wear, velocity and differential pressure.
