ICP Valves – Technical profile of an industrial isolation and check valve manufacturer

ICP Valves S.A.U. is a Spanish manufacturer of industrial valves and part of the TTV–JC Valve Group. Its range includes ball valves, gate valves, globe valves, check valves and valve automation accessories for process industries, utilities and industrial piping systems.

The range represented through Philippopoulos S.A. mainly includes:

  • two-way ball valves,
  • forged piston check valves,
  • forged gate valves,
  • forged globe valves,
  • flanged, threaded and welded end connections,
  • ANSI Class 150 / 300 / 800 and PN-rated executions.

ICP ball valves are mainly used for On/Off isolation in liquids, gases, steam utilities and industrial services. Two-piece and three-piece constructions are available depending on maintenance philosophy and connection type. Three-piece ball valves allow easier inspection of seats, gaskets and ball, provided that the piping layout allows centre-body removal.

Forged gate valves are used for full open or full closed isolation. They are not suitable for throttling service, because partial opening may damage the wedge and seats. Forged globe valves are used for isolation and limited throttling in steam, condensate, air, oil and compatible industrial fluids.

Piston check valves provide mechanical reverse-flow protection without external control. Selection depends on line orientation, differential pressure, minimum flow, back pressure and the risk of water hammer.

For technical specification, the following data should be checked:

  • valve type and function,
  • DN / NPS and PN / ANSI Class,
  • connection type: flanged, BSP, NPT, socket weld or butt weld,
  • body, trim, seat and packing materials,
  • fluid compatibility,
  • temperature and pressure rating,
  • PED, ATEX, Fire Safe, fugitive emission or NACE requirements,
  • actuator interface where applicable,
  • available certificates and test documentation.

ICP valves are suitable for process engineers, steam specialists, piping engineers and maintenance departments requiring standard industrial isolation and check valves with defined material and pressure ratings.
