Ghidini 6062 4G Spherical Ball Valve

Type 6062 is a two-way MIGNON ball valve for small pipe sizes, manufactured with an AISI 316L / 1.4404 stainless steel body and ISO 228-1 threaded connections. It is used for flow isolation in auxiliary systems, low-flow process lines and compact skid assemblies.

Selection Criteria

Valve selection should be based on thread size, pressure class, operating temperature, medium compatibility with 316L stainless steel and PTFE, and the required bore configuration. The valve is intended for open/closed isolation service, not continuous throttling. Operation in intermediate positions may increase seat wear and leakage risk.

Sealing and Maintenance Notes

Virgin PTFE seats provide chemical resistance for many industrial fluids, but compatibility must be checked against concentration, temperature and cleaning cycles. Periodic inspection should consider handle torque, external leakage at the stem area, and internal leakage across the ball seats.

Actuation and Variant Considerations

The 6062 MIGNON execution is normally supplied with a manual stainless steel lever. Where automated on/off control is required, an equivalent actuated 4G configuration should be selected with a suitable mounting arrangement and pneumatic or electric actuator, rather than assuming interchangeability with the manual MIGNON version.

Difference from Larger 4G Ball Valves

The 6062 is the MIGNON version for small diameters from 1/4” to 1/2”. Larger 4G valves are selected where higher flow capacity, larger end connections or actuator integration are required.

FAQ

Is the valve suitable for food applications?
Yes, when MOCA EC 1935/2004 compliance is requested during procurement and the medium is compatible with 316L/PTFE.

Can it be used for flow regulation?
No. It should be used as an isolation valve. Continuous throttling can damage the PTFE seats and increase leakage probability.
