Ghidini 2730 4G 2-Way Ball Valve

Type 2730 is a full-bore, high-pressure 2-way ball valve with an ISO 5211 / DIN 3337 mounting flange for pneumatic or electric actuation. It is used for automated on/off isolation in process lines up to PN 400.

Typical Applications

The 2730 is applied in high-pressure utility and process circuits where remote isolation is required. Typical duties include process skids, inert gas lines, hydraulic auxiliary circuits, chemical services, and compact automated valve assemblies.

Media compatibility must be checked against AISI 316L and the selected seat material. The valve is intended for fully open or fully closed operation, not continuous throttling.

Operating and Selection Notes

• Use for automated shut-off where the design pressure requires PN 250 or PN 400 capability.
• Select PTFE with stainless steel support for higher temperature duties up to +200°C within the allowable pressure envelope.
• Select Devlon where the pressure and temperature conditions are within its limit and a polymer seat alternative is required.
• Actuator sizing should consider differential pressure, operating frequency, media characteristics, and required safety position.

Difference from Type 2530

Type 2530 covers PN 64 to PN 200 applications. Type 2730 is selected when the design pressure increases to PN 250 or PN 400 and the valve must be integrated into an automated on/off control loop.

FAQ

Is this valve suitable for flow regulation?
No. It is a full-opening or full-closing isolation valve. Intermediate positioning may increase seat wear and is not the intended operating mode.

When is Devlon selected?
Devlon is selected when the specified pressure and temperature conditions are within its operating range and an alternative seat material to PTFE with stainless steel support is required.
