Ghidini 2530 4G 2-Way Ball Valve

Type 2530 is a 2-way, full-bore ball valve in AISI 316L / 1.4404 stainless steel. It has female/female ISO 228-1 threaded connections with rotating threaded flanges and an ISO 5211 / DIN 3337 top flange for actuator mounting. The standard version uses “Standard Seals” and is intended for automated on/off isolation in industrial pipework.

Typical Applications and Media

The 2530 is used where automated shut-off is required in threaded industrial lines with relatively high pressure ratings. Typical services include process water, compressed air, inert gases, utility circuits, high-pressure auxiliary lines, and chemical media compatible with 316L stainless steel and PTFE.

It is an isolation valve for full open or full closed operation. It should not be selected for throttling or continuous control duty, as partial opening can increase seat wear, noise, and local velocity effects.

Operational and Maintenance Considerations

  • Full-bore geometry reduces pressure drop compared with reduced-port valves.
  • Rotating threaded flanges assist alignment during installation and simplify line disassembly.
  • Seat material must be checked against process temperature, chemical compatibility, and cleaning conditions.
  • Leakage performance depends on seat selection, actuator sizing, differential pressure, and cycling frequency.

Difference from 1901 and 1930

The 1901 is the manual version. The 1930 is also configured for actuator mounting but uses a standard ISO 228-1 female/female threaded connection. The 2530 adds rotating threaded flanges, which are useful where pipe alignment, maintenance removal, or frequent disassembly of the line must be considered.
