Ball Valve 1330 Series | 4G Ghidini

Ghidini 1330 4G 2-Way Ball Valve

The Ghidini type 1330 is a 2-way, full-bore “Integral Seal” ball valve with an ISO 5211 / DIN 3337 top flange for direct mounting of pneumatic or electric actuators. It is used for automated on/off isolation in stainless steel process piping where remote operation, interlocking, or PLC/SCADA integration is required.

Technical Characteristics

  • Valve type: 2-way ball valve
  • Flow pattern: full bore
  • Body material: AISI 316L / 1.4404 stainless steel
  • Size range: 1/4” to 4”, depending on end connection
  • Seat material: virgin PTFE
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to +160°C
  • Pressure classes: PN 25, PN 40, PN 64, PN 100
  • Surface finish: polished
  • Actuator mounting screws: included

End Connections

The valve is available with ISO 228-1 threaded, NPT threaded, butt weld, DIN 11851, SMS, clamp, Aceptik, and removable flanged ends. Connection selection should be based on the piping standard, cleaning requirements, dismantling frequency, and maintenance access.

Difference Between Type 1330 and Type 1301

Type 1301 is the manually operated version with lever handle. Type 1330 is supplied with an ISO 5211 / DIN 3337 actuator interface and is selected when the valve must be operated remotely, sequenced with other equipment, or connected to a control system.

Actuator Options

  • Pneumatic rack-and-pinion actuators for plant air systems
  • Electric actuators for installations without instrument air
  • Spring-return actuators where fail-open or fail-closed action is required
  • Limit switch boxes, solenoid valves, and position feedback for control panels or PLCs

Suitable Media and Applications

Typical services include process water, compressed air, inert gases, clean liquids, food and beverage fluids, and chemical media compatible with AISI 316L and PTFE. The valve is used in skid systems, CIP-compatible process lines, utilities, filling lines, dosing systems, and automated isolation points.

Sealing and Maintenance Considerations

PTFE seats provide chemical resistance and low operating torque, but valve selection must consider pressure-temperature limits, cycling frequency, media abrasiveness, and the required leakage class. For automated service, actuator sizing should include breakaway torque, differential pressure, safety factor, and any increase in torque due to infrequent operation.

Standards and Optional Configurations

On request, the valve can be supplied with antistatic arrangement according to ATEX II 2G Ex h IIC T4 Gb / II 2D Ex h IIIC T135°C Db, M.O.C.A. compliance according to CE 1935/2004, and glass-filled PTFE seats for -20°C to +170°C service.

FAQ

When should type 1330 be selected?
Use type 1330 when automated isolation is required and the valve must interface with pneumatic or electric actuators.

Is it suitable for hygienic or food applications?
It can be used in food and beverage systems when the selected connection, surface finish, elastomers, and requested M.O.C.A. documentation match the process requirements.

What must be checked before ordering?
Confirm nominal size, connection standard, pressure class, temperature range, media compatibility, actuator type, fail position, and control accessories.
