Ghidini 1202 4G Two-Way Full-Bore Ball Valve

Type 1202 is a two-way, full-bore ball valve with a manual stainless steel lever. This version uses clamp ends to DIN 32676, Table 4, Series C, for BS/OD tube according to ASTM A270.

Technical Data

  • Valve pattern: 2-way shut-off
  • Port: full bore, for low pressure drop in open position
  • End connection: clamp, DIN 32676 TAB.4 Reihe C
  • Tube standard: BS/OD according to ASTM A270
  • Body material: AISI 316L / 1.4404
  • Sizes: 1” to 2½”
  • Standard seats: modified virgin PTFE
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to +170°C
  • Pressure rating: PN 25 / PN 40, depending on size
  • External surface: polished

Typical Applications

Used on stainless process lines where fast disassembly, inspection, gasket replacement and cleaning access are required. Clamp connections are commonly specified in food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical utility, CIP and clean liquid process systems.

Suitable Media

  • Clean water and treated process water
  • Food and beverage liquids compatible with AISI 316L and PTFE
  • Dairy and hygienic process fluids
  • CIP liquids within the seat and gasket temperature limits
  • Non-abrasive clean utilities and transfer lines

Final selection must consider media chemistry, solids content, cleaning temperature, clamp gasket material and required leakage class.

Sealing Options

Alternative seat materials are available on request:

  • PTFE with glass: -20°C to +170°C
  • PTFE with carbographite: -20°C to +180°C
  • PTFE with stainless steel filler: -20°C to +200°C
  • UHMWPE: -20°C to +80°C

Operation and Actuation

The standard configuration is manual operation by stainless steel lever. For remote on/off service, pneumatic or electric actuation should be evaluated against valve torque, pressure differential, cycle frequency, fail position and any ATEX area classification.

Standards and Certifications

Available on request with antistatic device for ATEX II 2G Ex h IIC T4 Gb / II 2D Ex h IIIC T135°C Db. Food-contact compliance to M.O.C.A. CE 1935/2004 is available on request.

Clamp Version Compared with Threaded Versions

  • Clamp ends allow faster line break-out for cleaning and inspection.
  • Threaded ends are more compact but slower to dismantle and less common in hygienic maintenance routines.
  • Clamp assemblies require correct gasket selection and controlled mechanical alignment to limit leakage risk.

FAQ

Is this a control valve?
No. It is intended mainly for on/off isolation. Continuous throttling can damage seats and reduce shut-off performance.

When should the clamp version be selected?
Select it where the process line requires frequent disassembly, hygienic cleaning access or rapid gasket replacement.
