ARI TEMPTROL 775 – Thermostatic 2-Way Opening Valve

The ARI TEMPTROL 775 is a self-acting proportional flow valve with flanges. It increases flow with rising temperature at the sensor, making it suitable for cooling applications or equipment overheating protection, without the need for electric or pneumatic actuators.

• Max valve temperature: 150°C without cooling spacer.
• Kvs 4.0–80.0 m³/h.
• Stroke: 7.5–15 mm.
• Max Δp: 12 bar at DN15, 4 bar at DN20–DN100.
• Leakage class IV according to DIN EN 1349 / EN 60534-4, ≤0.01% of nominal flow.

Operation and Selection

The 775 is selected when temperature rise should open the valve. Typical applications include coolant supply to heat exchangers, oil cooling, engine water temperature regulation, and bypass circuits requiring mechanical control without PLCs. Compatible media include heating water, steam, thermal oil, and cooling water, with material checks for corrosive or abrasive fluids.

Versions and Sealing

The standard 775 features pressure balancing with a stainless steel bellows. The LC version lacks a balancing bellows and is limited to DN15–DN50, with lower permissible Δp. The disc sealing is metallic, and gaskets are graphite with CrNi inserts where needed.

Installation

A filter is required before the valve, with line cleaning from debris/rust and correct flow direction. Shut-off valves are recommended before and after for maintenance, with a control thermometer near the sensor and avoidance of mechanical loads on the actuator, capillary tube, and sensor.
