ARI TEMPTROL 773/774 – Thermostatic 3-Way Valve
The ARI TEMPTROL 773/774 is a self-actuating thermostatic mixing or diverting valve with flanged connections. It operates without electrical signals, pneumatic air, or PLCs; the shaft movement is driven by a thermal controller with a sensor and capillary tube.
Technical Specifications
- DN15–DN100.
- PN16, PN25, or PN40.
- Body materials: EN-JL1040, EN-JS1049, 1.0619+N, 1.4408.
- Kvs: 4.0–80 m³/h.
- Stroke: 7.5–15 mm.
- Leakage: Class IV according to DIN EN 1349 / EN 60534-4, ≤0.01% of nominal flow.
- Face-to-face EN 558 series 1.
Difference Between 773 and 774
The 773 is suitable for valve temperatures up to 150°C. The 774 includes a cooling spacer for applications up to 300°C, isolating the thermal controller from high line temperatures.
Flow Mixing and Diverting
In mixing mode, inlets are A and B with outlet AB. The hotter medium should enter at B. With temperature increase, the valve reduces or closes flow from B. In diverting mode, the medium enters from AB and exits through A and B; with temperature increase, outlet B is reduced or closed.
Applications
- Mixing hot/cold water in HVAC and industrial circuits,
- By-pass or flow diversion in heat exchangers,
- Cooling of engine oil or water,
- Thermal circuits in marine installations,
- Local temperature control without auxiliary energy.
Selection and Installation
Selection is based on Kvs, Δp, temperature, medium, body material, and mixing or diverting function. Proper adjustment requires similar pressures in partial flows. Correct flow direction according to arrows, a filter before the valve, and full immersion of the sensor are necessary.
Certifications
Compliance with PED 2014/68/EU and TÜV according to DIN EN 14597, Reg. No. TR91006 / TW91106. GL approval available for marine applications.
