ARI TEMPTROL 771/772 – Thermostatic 2-Way Valve
The ARI TEMPTROL 771/772 is a self-acting thermostatic valve with a flanged connection, designed for temperature regulation without auxiliary energy. Its operation relies on a thermal controller with a sensor and capillary tube; an increase in temperature at the sensor reduces flow through the shut-off valve.
Technical Specifications
- DN15–DN100, flanges according to DIN, face-to-face length EN 558 series 1.
- PN16, PN25, or PN40, depending on body material.
- Body materials: EN-JL1040, EN-JS1049, 1.0619+N, 1.4408.
- Kvs 4.0–80 m³/h for standard version.
- Maximum differential pressure Δp: 9–16 bar, depending on DN.
- Leakage class IV according to DIN EN 1349 / EN 60534-4, ≤0.01% of nominal flow.
Differences Between 771 and 772
The 771 series is used in applications up to 150°C. The 772 features a cooling spacer and covers temperatures up to 300°C, when thermal isolation of the controller from the hot medium is required.
Applications and Media
Suitable for heating circuits, steam, hot water, air, and industrial thermal circuits. Used in exchangers, tanks, process heaters, HVAC water/steam, marine installations, and cooling systems where local analog control is required without PLC or instrument air supply.
Selection and Installation
Selection is based on DN, Kvs, available Δp, medium temperature, body material, and seal compatibility. A filter is recommended before the valve, shut-off valves before/after, and a thermometer near the sensor. The sensor must be fully immersed, with adequate circulation around it.
Standards and Certifications
Compliance with PED 2014/68/EU, DIN EN 14597, and TÜV Reg.-No. TR910/TW911 approval. Germanischer Lloyd approval available for marine applications.
